There is one meeting every year this is a priority on my
calendar: The Global Leadership Summit sponsored
by the Willow Creek Association. The
meeting originates live at the Willow Creek Church in South Barrington,
Illinois, and is livestreamed to over 600 sites around the country. Wherever you live, there is a site near you.
Although some may have problems with the megachurch, Willow
Creek does it better than anyone else.
Under the leadership of pastor Bill Hybels, the vision and mission of
this church have expanded over the years to involve members in significant local,
national, and international ministries.
And there is no meeting like the Global Leadership
Summit. Each year the WCA brings
together a great mix of academic, organizational, and ministry leaders to share
insights and stimulate others to grow as leaders. The theme of this year’s summit is “Marks of Influence” and will be held August 10-11.
The program features fourteen world class leaders, but I am
especially interested in hearing these: Sheryl
Sandberg, COO, Facebook, and author of Lean In and Option B; Marcus Buckingham,
author of Now, Discover Your Strengths; Angela Duckworth, professor at the University
of Pennsylvania and author of Grit: The
Power of Passion and Perseverance; and
Andy Stanley, pastor and leader of North Point Ministries.
If you register before May 23 and use the code 17FrndER-1819, you get the best break on
Early Bird Registration. I hope you will
take advantage of this opportunity.
